The best camera straps 2025 – what really matters
If you're buying a camera for over €1,000, you shouldn't be hanging it on a strap that looks like a cheap promotional gift. And yet, in 2025, you'll still see too many high-quality Fujifilm, Sony, or Canon cameras with poor standard straps.
I'm Lorenz, a photographer and founder of strapnstyles – and I know: A camera strap is more than just an accessory. It determines whether you actually carry your camera with you. In this article, I'll show you what really matters – and which camera straps in 2025 will not only look good but also support you in your photography.
Why the camera strap is crucial
A good camera strap provides comfort during long sessions, security during use, and a style that suits you and your camera. It's not just a strap—it's a connection, a protection, and a statement all in one.
1. Comfort – the belt should not burden you
Especially on long photo walks or trips, every gram counts – and every material. A soft neck area, flexible material (such as cotton, leather, or soft nylon), and an adjustable length for shoulder or crossbody wear are important. Our straps at strapnstyles are designed so you can carry your camera for hours without even noticing.
2. Safety – you want to be able to rely on the belt
A camera strap can carry 1–2 kg of equipment. If the material is cheap or the stitching is sloppy, it can quickly become dangerous. That's why we rely on metal hardware, reinforced industrial seams, and durable cotter rings or safety adapters. No plastic buckles. No risk.
3. Style – your camera looks good, your strap should too
Fujifilm, Leica, and the like are design objects. So why an ugly functional strap? In 2025, understatement counts: neutral colors like black, olive, or sand, subtle branding, and high-quality materials like vegetable-tanned leather or soft cotton. Our straps at strapnstyles are deliberately minimalist—but thought through down to the last detail.
4. Fit – not every strap fits every camera
Large DSLRs require more surface area. Compact cameras like a Fujifilm X100VI or Sony A7C can quickly appear bulky with straps that are too thick. Some require special adapter solutions. At strapnstyles, you'll find straps with split rings, anchor adapters, or with screw mounts for tripod threads. This ensures that the strap not only looks good, but also fits perfectly.
My personal recommendation as a photographer & founder
I prefer to carry my Fujifilm X-T5 with our shorter 70 cm chest straps – whether made of leather or rope. Compact, close to the body, unobtrusive – perfect for street or travel. If you prefer a bit more flexibility, our standard quick-release straps are ideal: super lightweight, extremely robust, and you can detach or change your camera from the strap in seconds. This is exactly what I use in everyday life, too.
Conclusion – a good strap changes your photography
You carry your camera more often. You take more photos. You feel safer. A good strap isn't a luxury—it's a real upgrade.
